Today’s card is for the September 2016 Facebook Progressive Challenge in Digistamps4Joy stamping Facebook Group. The image for September is Hic … oops.

In addition to Hic … oops from Digistamps4Joy, I used the following products to create my card: Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils, Liquid Glass (Z679), Wood Slats Embossing Folder (Z3248), Tattered Lace Victorian Dots and Stripes Embossing Folder Set (I acquired mine in the Tattered Lace Victorian Embossing Folders Collection), Diamond Press Sentiments, the cut Card – #M40866 from the Cricut®/Close To My Heart – Art Philosophy cartridge (retired) and mirri card, card stock and a card base from my stash.

Here is a closeup of my bubbles. The coloring of my bubbles I was inspired by an image I viewed online. After coloring with three colors, I added Liquid Glass to add shine and dimension. I also put Liquid Glass on the beverage in the glass and spilled on the floor.

I used these pencil colors: 27 – Light Carmine, 28 – Rose Madder Lake, 30 – Dark Flesh, 31 – Medium Flesh, 32 – Light Flesh, 51 – Prussian Blue, 54 – Aquamarine, 95 – Cool Dark Grey, 97 – Medium Grey and 98 – Cool Dark Grey. I also used two greens to color the bottle and glass, but unfortunately the pencils slipped back into the case before I could note the colors used.

If Facebook Progressive Challenges are new to you, you have until the end of the month to purchase Hic … oops for $1 and post your creation in the Digistamps4Joy Stamping Facebook Group. I have to say I always see images used in ways I did not anticipate. I really enjoy seeing the different ways the images are used.

Another Card using DS4J Arum Lilly Border

April 12, 2016 5 comments

I had another print of the Arum Lilly Border digistamp so I created this card. I hope you like it.

Lapp DS4J Arum Lilly border - 2

I used the following materials to create the card: Arum Lilly Border from Digistamps4Joy printed on white cardstock. The image was colored using Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils (Light Chrome, Light Violet, Dark Violet, Sap Green, Apple Green) then I used a craft knife and glass mat to cut around the image.

I created the card base from a letter size sheet of white cardstock which I trimmed so the height is 7½”. I covered the card with light purple cardstock from my stash then added the Arum Lilly Border layer using foam tape. The background image was cut using Anna Griffin® Cuttlebug™ Cut & Emboss Dies – Fretwork from two shades of green then the two colors were layered to create a shadow-like effect. The butterfly was cut using Tattered Lace Radiant Butterfly from purple cardstock, was lightly scored down the middle and only attached at the center to allow the wings to be loose. The ribbon is from my stash (purchased at Michaels).

I’d like to enter this in the following challenges:
Challenge #123 – Anything Goes (twist = add a butterfly)

I love to read comments, so if you have a moment please let me know what you think of my card. Thanks for stopping by today.

DS4J Art Deco Beauty

March 27, 2016 Comments off

Hello. It has been a long time since I posted. I was focusing on my other blog where I post information as an Independent Consultant for Close To My Heart. I hope to find time in my day to create things to share on both blogs. Wish me luck.

Happy Easter. Instead of having dinner with family I stayed home because I came down with a cold and did not want everyone exposed to my germs. Despite not sleeping well last night – I think I saw every hour on the clock overnight – I am forcing myself to stay busy and awake with the hope I will sleep much better tonight.

I am unsure how many of you use digital stamps; I have used them some over the past few years. In 2014 I participated in a progressive Christmas challenge by Digistamps4Joy (DS4J) and followed them on Facebook. Recently DS4J created a Facebook Group and started a new progressive freebie challenge (PFC) and the butterfly image below, named Art Deco Beauty, was the freebie to get use started. If you hurry and request to join the Facebook Group you can download the image and participate in the PFC with us.

I used the following materials to create the card: Art Deco Beauty from Digistamps4Joy printed on Georgia Pacific white cardstock. The image was colored using Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils (Canary Yellow, Orange Yellow, Light Orange, Scarlet Lake, Brown Ochre). I fussy cut the image using a craft knife and glass mat.

The pre-cut and scored card base is 6.5″ high and 5″ wide. I covered the card with brown cardstock from my stash embossed with the CTMH Woodgrain Embossing Folder (Z1996). The sentiment is from the My Acrylix® Balloon Wishes stamp set (D1667) and was stamped with a Black Memento™ Ink Pad (Z899). I used green cardstock from my stash and die cut it using the Sweetpea Die from Tattered Lace Magazine Issue 18.

I hope you think I used the image in a pleasing way. Thanks for visiting my blog today.
